P R A Y E R & F A S T I N G
That’s what the rest of my month is about.
Yesterday our church began a 21-day fast during which we’re sharpening our awareness of God by foregoing creature comforts to remind our flesh it’s not in charge. Some folks alter their food, some folks drop bad habits, some folks simply get intentional about seeking His presence. All of us show up expectant.
Because fasting isn’t about what we’re giving up. It’s not about carbs or sugar or video games or quiet time.
It’s about what we’re gaining. It’s about clarity, revelation, grace, and love.
It’s about drowning out the everyday noise to create space for holy attention—so we can hear the answers to the questions we’ve been asking Him.
“So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.” [Ezra 8:23 NLT]⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
