"They will know us by our love." Two hands reaching towards each other.
Like Jesus

Look up and see who needs you

As we approach the big day, it’s easy to let the busyness of Christmas narrow our vision until all we can see is our own stress, our own lack, our own drama.⁣⁣

But look up.⁣⁣

Who around you is hurting? Who’s hungry or cold? Who’s using rent money to buy their kids gifts? Who’s lonely?⁣⁣

Is anyone’s need greater than yours? I’ll bet the answer is yes.⁣⁣

Don’t let that add to your anxiety, though! It’s actually your ticket to peace.

Rather than escaping into Netflix tonight, call your elderfolk and see how they’re doing.⁣⁣

Rather than grabbing a bottle of wine to unwind, grab thick socks for the guy huddled up outside the mall.⁣⁣

Rather than buying junk gifts to fill a quota, give that money to a family who needs groceries.⁣⁣

The fastest way to beat the holiday blues is to get our eyes off our own mess and lift up others.

By serving the needs of friends, family, and strangers on the street over serving our own, we celebrate the birth of Jesus in the best possible way: by loving the people he loves.⁣⁣

How can you bless someone this Christmas?

“In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” [John 13:34-35 MSG]⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
